About Albert Bridge:

Albert Bridge, spanning the River Thames between Chelsea and Battersea, is one of London's most picturesque and historic bridges. Completed in 1873, it was designed by Rowland Mason Ordish and later modified by Sir Joseph Bazalgette, blending a suspension and cable-stayed design that gives it a unique and elegant appearance. Often referred to as the "Trembling Lady" due to its tendency to vibrate under heavy traffic, the bridge has a weight limit and a sign advising troops to break step while crossing.

The bridge is especially stunning at night, illuminated by thousands of LED lights, creating a beautiful spectacle that reflects on the river below. Its pastel-colored paintwork adds to its charm and distinguishes it from other Thames crossings.

Albert Bridge connects the bustling streets of Chelsea with the more residential Battersea, providing access to Battersea Park, a beloved green space. Despite modern upgrades, it retains its Victorian charm, making it a favorite subject for photographers and a cherished landmark for Londoners.
