About Albert Bridge:
Albert Bridge, spanning the River Thames between Chelsea and Battersea, is one of London's most picturesque and historic bridges. Completed in 1873, it was designed by Rowland Mason Ordish and later modified by Sir Joseph Bazalgette, blending a suspension and cable-stayed design that gives it a unique and elegant appearance. Often referred to as the "Trembling Lady" due to its tendency to vibrate under heavy traffic, the bridge has a weight limit and a sign advising troops to break step while crossing. |
