Kenilworth Castle, located in Warwickshire, England, is a historic ruin with a rich past dating back to the 12th century. Initially built as a Norman fortress, it was expanded into one of the most impressive castles in England during the medieval and Tudor periods.
Famous for its associations with Robert Dudley, the Earl of Leicester, who lavishly entertained Queen Elizabeth I there in 1575, the castle features majestic red sandstone ruins, a restored Elizabethan garden, and a large medieval keep. Today, Kenilworth Castle is managed by English Heritage, offering visitors a glimpse into its grand history and architectural splendor. |
